I got this for my son for Christmas. He's a bit young to be building things but he can play with the pieces and enjoy the colors until he's a little older. My 7 year old loves these as well. She loooooves to build things, mainly Legos but she plays with Lincoln Logs as well. These are built to withstand some abuse. I love the bright colors and how the pieces are very different from each other - unlike Lincoln Logs.
This toy is great for all ages really.
